Becta advice for schools on biometric data

Following a well-publicised debate on the use of finger-printing in schools, Becta has taken the step of publishing advice on the use of biometric data in education.

Becta guidance on biometric technologies in schools is “intended to provide headteachers and school governors with what they need to know about biometric technology systems if they are thinking of introducing such a system in their school, and to advise them on what steps they need to take to introduce it successfully.”
